I am passionate about exploring emerging threats, strengthening system resilience, and applying security best practices to real-world challenges. With a growing interest in advanced cybersecurity research and hands-on defense strategies, I aim to contribute to creating secure, robust, and innovative digital systems.
I'm a Master's student in Cybersecurity at the University of Maryland, College Park, with a background in Computer Science from SRM Institute of Science and Technology. My interest in cybersecurity grew from working closely with real-world systems, where I realized how small misconfigurations or overlooked risks can compromise entire environments. That curiosity evolved into a passion for understanding how security, governance, and risk intersect—shaping the way organizations protect what matters most.
I'm particularly drawn to GRC because it allows me to think beyond just technical defenses and focus on how policies, controls, and risk strategy influence overall security maturity. I enjoy digging into frameworks like NIST CSF and ISO 27001, mapping controls, and understanding how decisions at a strategic level impact operations on the ground.
As I build my expertise at UMD, I'm focusing on projects that combine both technical assessment and security governance. My goal is to help organizations create security programs that are not only compliant but genuinely resilient—where risks are understood, controls are meaningful, and security is built with intention.
Built a Generative AI–based malware generator and threat classifier, performing static analysis (Ghidra), behavioral testing, and risk-aligned control mapping for advanced malware research.
Built a supervised learning model to classify subscriptions and recurring bills from transaction data, integrating MongoDB for spend tracking and delivering real-time analytics on high-spend categories.
Developed an OT-focused risk assessment and asset inventory framework, mapping all systems, network flows, and software deployments, and evaluating security posture using a NIST CSF–aligned compliance checklist.
